Speaking to reporters after the ship arrived in Nigeria with more than 700 people on board, China’s ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Chi Jian Chun, said the planned July 2-6 visit would improve maritime security in West Africa.
He said;

β€œThe visit is intended to further deepen the relationship between the two countries and also to strengthen and improve our relationship and cooperation with each other.
β€œThis visit shows the harmony and symphony between Nigeria and China. I believe this visit will deepen the cooperation between the military sector of both countries so that we can work together to overcome the obstacles.
“We will continue to do more to facilitate and promote the relationship between the two countries.”
