Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has said he disagrees with those who argued that the proposed N8,000 relief by the Federal Government will do little to alleviate the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy on poor Nigerians.
Speaking on TV on the evening of July 21, the governor insisted that 8,000 naira is a lot of money for many poor families in the country, which they will not receive for a month. “We only shared 5,000 naira and believe me, there are many people waiting for 5,000 naira every month. Actually, there are some communities that can contribute and they can do many things in different communities. That’s why the N8,000 may not have so much money for some people, but there are many people from many other people from poor families every month. Therefore, the only thing is to let us decide these families. Governor juice said.
