Five inmates and one civil defence official died in the boko haram attack on the Kuje Correctional Center attack early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased citizens died after sustaining injuries during cross fire between the security agencies and the invading members of the boko haram sect.

On spot assessment of the attack showed that the insurgents approached the prison yard from behind the complex placing explosive devices and detonation same in some strategic areas.
Having forcefully gained entry into the centre, the attackers freed over six hundred out of the nine hundred and sixty eight inmates at the centre causing commotion and wounding many.
Empty bullet pellets, wreckage and rubbles of the attack littered all around the prison complex.
It was gathered that over six hundred inmates broke out of the medium security custodial centre but officials say over three hundred of the escapees have been rearrested from nearby bushes and hideouts.
